A savings account is the heart of your Heartland Federal Credit Union membership. Once you’re a member, we can help you reach your goals with a variety of other savings, checking, products, and services.
When you join a credit union, you pledge a “share” that enables you to participate in the member-owned cooperative and ensures you a vote in the democratic process. A $5 deposit in our Regular Savings Account establishes your membership with Heartland Federal Credit Union.
* Emergency Savings accounts: this is a deposit only savings. Withdrawals may be made by contacting Heartland FCU. Some restrictions may apply. See a HFCU representative for complete details.
* There is a 10% penalty on any withdrawal not education related. In order to avoid this penalty, provide a cancelled check made payable to the school or an invoice related to school expenses. In January of the year the member turns 18, funds are transferred to their regular savings account and this account is closed.
** Accounts balances that fall below $2,500 will incur a monthly fee.
