My Credit Score

Your credit score is a snapshot of your credit risk at a particular point in time that adjusts upon a sliding scale, and can range between 300 and 850. It is important that you know what your FICO (Fair Isaac Corporation) score is and understand what factors make up that number.

How to Order A Free Report

The three nationwide credit reporting companies have set up a central website, toll-free number, and mailing address through which you can order your free annual report, once every 12 months.

Credit Education

  • The FTC (Federal Trade Commission), a government agency, provides you valuable information on why it's important to get a report, how to order one (and avoid scams), and what to do if you find an error. Check out their fun video.
  • TransUnion is also a resource for credit guidance and information. Whether you're looking for information on credit reports or how to protect yourself from identity theft, you'll find answers and guidance that will help steer you toward more robust credit health.
  • Peruse this site sponsored by FICO to learn about the five categories that determine your score and how each are weighted.
  • Or you can print a pamphlet from FICO on credit scores, and look at it in your leisure.
